You do not need to be on every platform. Small teams that try to post everywhere usually end up posting badly everywhere. A better approach is to choose one main platform and one supporting platform based on your type of business, then run a simple weekly system that turns attention into WhatsApp chats, calls and sales. This guide shows you how.
Start with reach, but do not stop there
DataReportal’s Digital 2026: Pakistan report, published in November 2025, compiles the advertising reach each platform reports for Pakistan. These figures reflect data from late 2025:
| Platform | Reported ad reach in Pakistan |
|---|---|
| TikTok | 79.9 million users aged 18+ |
| YouTube | 54.3 million |
| 52.9 million | |
| Snapchat | 41.1 million |
| 22.4 million | |
| 18.0 million members |
Read these numbers with care. The report notes that ad reach is not the same as monthly active users. TikTok’s tools report only adults aged 18 and over, and LinkedIn’s figure counts registered members rather than active users. So the table tells you where large audiences are. It does not tell you where your buyers make decisions.
Match the platform to your business
Use the table below as a starting point to test, not as a rule. Your own results matter more than any general advice.
| Business type | Main platform to test | Supporting platform | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fashion, beauty, home decor, packaged food | TikTok | Visual products, and buyers often move from a post to a direct message | |
| Restaurants, salons, tutors, clinics and other local services | Local pages, community groups and reviews matter for nearby customers | ||
| B2B software, agencies, consultancies | YouTube | Buyers are professionals, and longer demos help them decide | |
| Mass-market apps, edtech, entertainment | TikTok | Instagram or YouTube Shorts | Short video helps you reach large audiences quickly |
| Real estate, vehicles, high-value services | YouTube | Walkthrough videos and detailed posts support big purchases |
If you are unsure, run a four-week test on two platforms with the same content and compare inquiries, not likes.
What each platform gives a business
- Facebook and Instagram. Meta’s Business Suite app lets you create and schedule posts and stories for your Facebook Page and Instagram account. You can also answer messages and comments in one place and see insights on posts, stories and ads. WhatsApp also offers action buttons on your Facebook Page and Instagram profile, plus ads that click through to a WhatsApp chat.
- TikTok. A TikTok Business Account is free. TikTok says its analytics show content performance, account growth and audience demographics.
- LinkedIn. Company Pages are free to create. LinkedIn says you can schedule posts, track page visits and post performance, and add Showcase Pages for specific brands or business units and Product Pages for your products. For many B2B startups, the founder’s personal profile will do more than the company page, so post from both.
- YouTube Shorts. YouTube’s help centre says Shorts can now be up to three minutes long, which gives you room for a short demo or explainer.
Build a weekly posting system
Use a simple content mix
Plan four posts a week for your main platform:
- Two help posts that answer a real customer question.
- One proof post, such as a customer result, behind-the-scenes footage or a delivery photo shared with permission.
- One offer post showing a product or service, its price in PKR and exactly how to order.
Add short stories or status updates on most days to stay visible between posts.
Follow a weekly routine
- Monday: choose the week’s four topics from your list of customer questions.
- Tuesday: create everything in one batch: photos, short videos and captions.
- Wednesday: schedule the posts.
- Every day: set two 15-minute windows to reply to comments and messages.
- Friday: log the week’s inquiries and orders by platform and post.
Make every post convert
- Give one clear next step. “Message us on WhatsApp”, “Tap the link in our bio” or “Book a call”. Use a WhatsApp short link or QR code so people land in a chat with you.
- Reply fast. Move serious buyers from comments to WhatsApp, and label the chat so your team can follow up.
- Consider showing prices. Asking people to “DM for price” adds a step before they can decide.
- Speak your customers’ language. Use Urdu or Roman Urdu captions where your audience does, and plan content around Ramadan, Eid, Independence Day and wedding season if they matter to your customers.
- Use a different link per platform. That way you can see which platform sends the inquiries.
Measure what matters
Each Friday, record for every platform: inquiries, orders or sign-ups, and the hours you spent. Followers and likes are useful only if they lead to those results. After a month, put more time into the platform and post types that produce customers.
Common mistakes
- Buying followers. It inflates a number that does not pay your bills and makes your real results harder to read.
- Boosting posts too early. Paid promotion works better once you know which posts already bring inquiries without it.
- Ignoring messages after hours. Customers do not only message during office hours. Use an away message and reply first thing the next day.
- Posting the same thing everywhere. A LinkedIn post and a TikTok video need different openings, lengths and tones.
- Copying foreign brands. Borrow formats if you like, but use local prices, places and problems your customers recognise.
When to add another platform
Add a third platform only when your main one produces steady inquiries and your weekly routine runs without stress. Reuse what you already make. A vertical video can work on TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts with small edits to the caption and format.
Your social media checklist
- Pick one main platform and one supporting platform for your business type.
- Set up business accounts and complete every profile field and contact button.
- Plan four posts a week: two help, one proof and one offer.
- Batch-create on one day and schedule in advance.
- Reply to comments and messages twice a day.
- Put a WhatsApp link or clear next step on every post.
- Track inquiries and orders by platform every Friday, and adjust monthly.
